Significance of the Chrysanthemum in Japanese Art and Japan’s Shinjuku National Garden

Abstract:
Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum houses many cultural items, including a Japanese artifact known as the ‘Kakiemon-Style Jar.’ To understand the significance of this jar, it is imperative to study the content on the jar as well as its history, and how it is connected to Japanese culture. This article examines the significance of the chrysanthemum motif and the history of Japan’s Shinjuku National Garden.
