The Scale of Space
Artist’s Statement:
“Creating art is a personal quest, a search for meaning. The desired method is transmitting this process through visual forms, without the need of language, without narratives. This kind of creation doesn’t illustrate, but suggest; it shows the findings of the artist after careful investigations of fundamental and visceral territories of existence. It examines the possible ways of manifestations of a meaning or reality or existence, but nothing specific or particular or concrete. The means is the meaning: it examines the nature of color, of space, or of the layers of visuality. The idea transformed into a visual code becomes the artwork. The code is made from elements like color, marks (both spatial and temporal ), layers, modules. But at the same time the message is also one or more of these elements. In the end the works are separate components and the meaning in the same time.”
About the artist:
After graduating University, I have been working with traditional painting materials to address issues which occupy my thoughts. In my work I try to avoid outlines and confines, to dismiss strong contrasts in order to capture some kind of essence. Constantly observing the different aspects of reality, I came to the understanding that nothing is obvious, this is why my works show a world of mist and gloom.
My works have been presented in international exhibitions, such as “Erweiterung der Re-alität” in Amart Gallery in Vienna in 2018 and in 2016 at the “After Eden “exhibition at Latarka Gallery in Budapest. I have also participated in national exhibitions in Hungary like the Xth Contemporary Christian Iconography Exhibition at Kecskemet in 2020 and the 2016 Barcsay Prize exhibition in the Barcsay Museum in Szentendre. I have also participated in several exhibitions in Romania, such as the 2019 and 2018 Confluences exhibition at the Ballassi Institute in Bucharest and the exhibitions of painting symposiums. I have had two solo exhibitions at the K’Arte Gal-lery in Targu Mures in 2015 and 2016. Besides these national painting and art symposiums I have also participated in the Ist Valdis Buss Plein Air Symposium in Latvia in 2017 and in the 2018 Pienkowski Artist Residency in Poland. I was awarded the Barcsay prize in 2016 and two times the Communitas Creation Fellowship, in 2014 and 2018. I am currently living and working in Ora-dea, Romania.
