Artist’s Statement:

I explore the tenuous nature of stability and track its impact on my relationship to my surroundings. Variations within continuity determine my perception of myself and affect all other aspects of my life. I seek comfort within my work. Repetition gains value over time and creates trust and a sense of permanence. Repetitive processes provide me with an effective stability within my relationships. In transferring fundamental aspects into the activity of stitching, the work itself becomes the reassurance. As a result, I see me within the patterns created which is crucial as aspects of me are not limited to myself, and extend the work beyond me as an individual.
